Undertow Makes a Splash with New Cocktail Menus

Undertow, an immersive, nautical-themed cocktail bar recently expanded its footprint to Gilbert. The original location, opened in 2016 by parent company Barter & Shake, takes guests aboard the Clipper ship of Captain John Mallory and entices patrons with worldly and exotic cocktails. Prisma partnered with Undertow to extend this vision to its new Gilbert location with the production of storybook style cocktail menus. The menus, a 40-page, case bound book, immerse guests in the lore of Captain John Mallory and his crew. Each page includes detailed illustrations to accompany the story along with descriptions of each of the establishment’s unique cocktail offerings.

Undertow’s style is uniquely curated to provide an adventure for every guest, and its new menu had to be crafted to reflect that style. Gold foil was stamped and embossed on the front cover along with a Soft Touch Laminate to evoke a treasure-like feel. The pages were printed on 100# Silk Book with an aging, weathered background to ensure the look and feel of a pirate storybook was achieved.

Prisma is proud to have helped bring this unique menu project to life, and can’t wait to set sail on another adventurous menu soon.

“You’d think that with a company that does the volume of work that Prisma does wouldn’t have time to help you with your passion project– and you’d be wrong. Our menu books are the culmination of six months of development, creativity, and communication. Each one requires a level of eccentricity (read: insanity) that we thoroughly enjoy. Working with Prisma made the entire process smoother, cleaner– and dare I say, the final product is more gorgeous than we could have dreamed.”

– MAT SNAPP, EVP Operations, Barter & Shake.

The AMEC Sunday School Union is the exclusive publisher for the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The AMEC Sunday School Union, also known as the AMEC Publishing House, was  established in 1882 by Charles S. Smith to provide Sunday School curriculum for AME Church. However, as the Publishing House grew, it found that its manual processes for tracking inventory and distributing orders could no longer keep up with the demands of warehousing and shipping multiple volumes of materials.

A primary challenge the AMEC Publishing House faced was an inefficient and outdated e-commerce system used to fulfill publishing orders. Inventory was subject to manual checks that were inconsistent and laborintensive. The AMEC Publishing House needed a solution to streamline its order processing and reduce the burden on its staff while also increasing customer satisfaction.

Prisma consulted with the AMEC Publishing House to build a custom e-commerce solution with its proprietary technology, dokshop. Dokshop was seamlessly integrated on the front end to the AMEC Publishing House’s existing website, while on the back end streamlined ordering and inventory management, providing a user-friendly customer experience with real-time updates.

“Prisma’s innovative approach with dokshop has revolutionized our operations, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth. Their tailored solutions not only improved our day to-day efficiency but also played a pivotal role in enhancing our customer relations and satisfaction.”
– Tiffany Gregory
Chief of Operations

In addition to streamlining the ordering process and logistics, Prisma has a robust printing platform that helps support the growing needs of AMEC’s Publishing House. This support is executed through dokshop and is capable of handling multiple projects efficiently, ensuring consistent quality and availability of printed materials.

Dokshop’s system optimizes order fulfillment by enabling rapid picking and turnaround times. Standard and custom reporting featuring real-time data, allows for better management of inventory.

The results of the technology implementation have been multi-faceted, including significant cost savings by reducing the need for additional staff, and time savings due to the efficiencies gained from the streamlined process. The dokshop platform provided a quicker turnaround on orders, with immediate order and shipping notifications.

“Our collaboration with Prisma has been transformative, delivering bespoke solutions with dokshop that seamlessly aligned with our business objectives. Their commitment to understanding and anticipating our need  has resulted in substantial cost and time savings, proving to be an invaluable asset in our pursuit of excellence.”

With a rich history of successful projects and a team of skilled professionals, Prisma has built a reputation as a trusted partner for companies seeking to elevate their brand visibility on the road. Our expertise in vehicle wraps spans a wide range of applications, from commercial fleets to specialized racing vehicles. Prisma recently showcased this expertise in a high-profile project for racecar driver David Lecko, demonstrating our ability to meet unique challenges in the fast-paced world of motorsports.

David Lecko, CEO of the innovative real estate investment app DealMachine, approached Prisma with a specific vision to brand his racecar. Lecko is competing in the newly launched North American Ginetta Challenge Series, a semi-professional one-make racing series that puts driver skill and car setup at the forefront. This unique format ensures that all competitors race in identical vehicles, making the distinctive branding even more crucial for standing out on the track. With races primarily held at Central and East Coast venues, the striking vehicle wrap provides excellent exposure for both Racing Support LLC and DealMachine, capturing the attention of racing enthusiasts and potential clients alike.

Lecko specified the materials and design he required and the Prisma team embarked on the challenge of bringing his unique vision to reality. When faced with an unexpected hurdle – the unavailability of a particular vinyl color – our team’s resourcefulness shone through. Rather than compromising on quality or design integrity, we collaborated with Lecko, reviewing color swatch books to select a suitable alternative that maintained the intended aesthetic.

“Derek Eastty with Capital Printing/Prisma Austin is the most committed person I have ever met. I hired Capital Printing to wrap my car. The job came out looking pro. Derek was my sales rep and he tracked the progress daily and gave me updates. The humid conditions in my garage slowed down progress, but Derek hauled parts of my car to their a/c facility at 10pm one night so they could complete the job on time. I would recommend working with Capital/Prisma Austin and Derek because they took the stress off and got the job done in time for my event.”
– David Lecko

Whether it’s a high-speed racecar or a fleet of commercial vehicles, our experienced team delivers vehicle wraps that make a lasting impression. By combining cutting-edge printing technology with meticulous attention to detail, we help our partners stand out from the competition – both on and off the racetrack.

The search for a secure partner

After experiencing a data breach due to their compromised former partner, a leading healthcare provider of home-based and mobile health care services required a new direct mail and print partner. The ideal partner needed to be able to handle a large volume of compliant mail pieces each month while  ensuring sensitive patient information is kept secure. With data security being their greatest priority, this provider turned to Prisma. Prisma’s HITRUST certification and automation abilities provided them with the confidence they were seeking in a new partnership.

A leader in security, privacy, and compliance

Security breaches are frequently seen in the healthcare sector and can stem from a variety of incidents. Data breaches in healthcare mail can have serious consequences ranging from legal and financial repercussions to disruption of services. Because of this, organizations that handle sensitive or personal data are subject to increasingly high standards for data protection. Federal regulations such as HIPAA only protect data so far, and new compliance regulations are constantly being introduced.

Prisma has a secure infrastructure and process for handling sensitive data. HITRUST, or the Health Information Trust Alliance, is a security framework for protecting health information that helps organizations and partners manage security risks. It provides controls and requirements for meeting industry compliance needs. The certification is continuously audited and considered the most comprehensive framework for data security. As a certified HITRUST company, Prisma offers a competitive advantage to its partners. PrismaSecure and automation capabilities PrismaSecure automation processes data files by linking them to established mapping templates, running them through Postal Software, and creating Print Ready PDFs for printing. It also
generates MRDF files for intelligent inserters to verify the final mailing. The PrismaSecure dashboard provides a live status of data jobs with a color-coded scale indicating when a job is overdue, due today, or due the next day based on the established SLA.
Prisma handles various programs for healthcare providers:

  • Compliant member communication
  • In-Home-Screening Letters
  • Safe Drug Disposal Letters
  • Postcards
  • Bi-fold self-mailer
  • Preassessment Letters
  • PCP Letters
  • Personal Health Summary Packet

Mail pieces by the millions

Prisma’s mailing department handles over 15 million pieces of mail each month throughout our four plants. The secure facility ensures the utmost protection of patients’ data, while cutting-edge technology guarantees the message reaches its intended mailbox with unparalleled accuracy. Healthcare providers can rely on Prisma’s in-depth knowledge of postal regulations to prevent delays and eliminate unforeseen expenses. Prisma currently sends an average of 675,000 mail pieces monthly for this healthcare partner alone.

Streamlining the ordering process with digital solutions

To further cater to the needs of many healthcare providers, Prisma introduced an online platform that enables various locations to effortlessly order customized marketing materials. Dokshop provides a seamless and efficient solution. The software incorporates a branded site with custom logins and pre-approved brand standards, allowing teams to order branded materials with quick customization options while maintaining brand consistency. These innovative solutions have not only saved time but also reduced costs for their partners in the Healthcare industry. As a trusted direct mail partner, Prisma empowers healthcare brands to focus on delivering exceptional care while maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and compliance.

SYNERGY HomeCare is the U.S.’s fastest growing franchisor in the home care industry with over 200 franchisees operating more than 450 territories nationwide. The explosive growth recorded by the company necessitated an overhaul of its marketing deployment and logistics. SYNERGY HomeCare needed a scalable brand management solution that could support the rapidly expanding franchise and location base across the U.S. with a full complement of marketing support elements.

SYNERGY HomeCare had collaborated with Prisma on multiple enterprise-wide print and ship projects in the past, so Prisma was top-of-mind when the need for expanded brand management functionality was identified. SYNERGY HomeCare needed help managing a vast library of variable, print-ondemand marketing collateral and activation tools, as well as the sourcing and inventorying of a variety of custom kits, promotional and apparel items. Prisma’s proprietary brand management software, dokshop, provides users the ability to self-serve on demand with a transparent ordering experience.

Dokshop was the right-size technology for SYNERGY HomeCare’s needs, so Prisma got to work creating a customized site designed precisely to their specifications.

More than 130 products were integrated into one, single-sign-on site, providing SYNERGY HomeCare’s franchisees access to the full menu of branded marketing collateral needed to activate their business in their local market. Additional items are being added continuously to provide franchisors robust marketing tools.

Benchmark Electronics is a worldwide provider of innovative product design, engineering services, technology solutions, and advanced manufacturing
services. Benchmark has provided integrated services and solutions to equipment manufacturers since 1979. When they wanted to honor and recognize
veterans among their team, Prisma was eager to bring their idea to life! Benchmark sought an onbrand wall graphic to honor veterans for several branch locations. Prisma developed a plan that would accomplish this with efficiency and style.

Strategic Design

Benchmark’s goal was to create an attention grabbing wall graphic with a professional appearance that fit within brand standards. Prisma’s graphic design team developed an innovative design with a Benchmark-branded wall header and individual plaques to recognize each veteran and their service to our country. Each plaque featured an American flag with the name of the veteran and the crest of the military branch in which they served. The plaques were made with aluminum composite material and gloss laminate that catches the eyes of each visitor.

An Impactful Installation

The Prisma Team successfully installed the wall graphics across eight branch locations with individual plaques for 95 Benchmark employees. The headers were mounted with standoffs, and the plaques were mounted with French cleats. This created a 3D look that made the graphics pop out from the wall. Using dokshop, Prisma’s proprietary brand management technology, future ordering
of new plaques is fully automated. The plaques were added to the Benchmark dokshop site as a dynamic product so they can customize and easily order a new plaque whenever they add a veteran employee. Benchmark was thrilled with the final product and so pleased the murals are scalable by location.

“Our veterans murals get lots of attention internally and are noticed by our defense industry customers when they enter our facilities around the country. I’m always getting calls from your competitors and gently turn them away. Truth be told, it’s because of the account management, graphic design, and
logistics teams behind Prisma.”

OneAZ Credit Union is a financial services company that serves more than 160,000 members and 10,000 local businesses. Since 1951, OneAZ has helped Arizonans meet their financial needs by offering a full suite of personal and business banking solutions. As a credit union, they are owned by their members, and their earnings are returned to members in the form of better interest rates and lower fees for services. With 20 branches across the state, OneAZ needed a partner who could streamline print and promotional item fulfillment to their teams across Arizona. Prisma offered a unique value proposition through dokshop, Prisma’s proprietary marketing supply chain technology.

Unifying Branded Materials

Since dokshop is Prisma’s proprietary software, the OneAZ team was able to have complete input on the creation of their brand management portal. Standardized event kits were added to the dokshop portal to give their retail team a structured and streamlined resource for their events around the state
of Arizona. These kits included promotional items, flyers, cards, certificates, and signage that would enhance their marketing efforts and ensure brand consistency at all events. OneAZ placed an initial stocking order for 4 distinct kits, each including up to 5 different items with print quantities from 25-500. Prisma managed the inventory efficiently and automatically re-stocks when quantities run low.

Streamlining the Event Process

OneAZ values its partnership with Prisma and found Prisma easy to work with and quick to respond to their questions. Prisma helped them successfully fulfill their goals of streamlining the event process for a statewide team by providing standardized materials for marketing outreach and community events. Utilizing dokshop, their teams can now customize and order pre-approved event kits, comprised of print materials and promotional items, and have them delivered straight to their branches. Through this process, they have seen significant cost reductions in per-unit pricing, delivery fees, and time/capacity.

Mephisto USA is the stateside subsidiary of the world-famous European footwear brand. The 50+-year-old brand operates more than 800 stores in 62 countries. Prisma has been producing point-of-sale signage and collateral for the US-based stores for many years, but a new opportunity presented itself in early 2023.

On the Right Foot

Mephisto’s creative headquarters for the brand had historically been in France. The USA subsidiary learned of Prisma’s creative and design capabilities and came to us with an ask; the complete layout and production for the Spring 2023 catalogue. The catalogue is a 20-page spread and Prisma’s design expertise and commitment to a tight turnaround sold the Mephisto team.

In Perfect Step

Mephisto needed their catalog available for stores and sale reps by first week of April.  More than 100 product images and general layout were provided for the 20 pages.  The Prisma creative team created a grid of columns and rows to determine the best way to organize the shoes cohesively and ensure any full-page images correlated to the shoes present on the same spread. Prisma’s team provided initial design proofs in 5 working days and provided edits in in less than 24 hours which sped up production delivery.

Print production took place on the Indigo digital press that not only matched the previous offset quality, but increased speed to market.

More than 400, 20-page self cover catalogues were produced in-house by Prisma.

“We have worked for several years with Prisma on our printing projects. This was the first time we used Prisma for design and layout of our brochures. I found the team very capable and responsive to our needs for the brochure and the designer was quick to turn the brochure back to us for comments. The experience was seamless and our quick turnaround needs were met without delay. We will use Prisma again for these and other projects in the future,” Rusty Hall, President Mephisto USA.

dokshop’s menu management solutions streamlines Courtyard by Marriott’s on-premise dining

Courtyard by Marriott is an upscale, select service brand catering to business and leisure travelers with more than 1,200 locations. The hotel brand offers on-premise dining through its hotel restaurant, the Bistro, open for breakfast and dinner service. Courtyard was managing its menu versioning, pricing and print execution through a time-consuming process that took months to get to market. Prisma, through its partnership with Hospitality Solutions Corporation, was able to illustrate to Courtyard a streamlined menu management solution with the use of dokshop.

A Menu Management Overhaul

Courtyard and Prisma got to work creating a custom menu management solution that stores specific site profile information for every Courtyard Bistro location. The dokshop solution positively impacted the menu management process in several ways:
–  Immediate proof visibility
–  Ability to order on demand in between menu cycles to address changes without exorbitant custom printing fees
–  Ability to integrate required and optional menu item selections, by property
–  Shorter print turnaround
–  Enhanced reporting/back-end metrics Hotels in the brand are empowered to pick their menu items and pricing from a library of items stored within dokshop’s menu management system. This digital process increased speed to market to within days instead of months!

“The new order system allows Courtyard Bistros to more efficiently create and order their menus and receive them faster. By integrating required and optional menu items, Bistros can drive greater revenue by customizing their menus based on their staffing models and guest preferences.”
– SHERY SUPLIDO | COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT, SENIOR MANAGER, GLOBAL, US AND CANADA FOOD + BEVERAGE

Scaling for Success

Courtyard is now able to roll out new menu refreshes twice per year in the Spring and Fall with full-scale print logistics powered by Prisma. Hotels are able to order exactly what they need, profiled to their location, and the brand is able to have increased order visibility through custom reporting. In addition to menus, hotels are also able to order the large format menu boards, display hardware, holders and table numbers to enhance guest experience and dining operations. Prisma then printed on demand each order, kitting every customized item and ensuring each order was delivered to the right hotels at the right time.

Omnichannel Marketing Campaign Attracts Holiday Shoppers

Recognized by Phoenix New Times as the best place to shop thrift, The White Dove Thrift Shoppes offer unique finds for the treasure hunter while supporting Hospice of the Valley’s mission of bringing comfort, dignity, and compassionate care to our community. Named to reflect Hospice of the Valley’s dove logo, the first White Dove store opened in Phoenix in 2004 with three additional locations across the Valley since then. Store proceeds support Hospice of the Valley patients and families in need of charity care services.

‘Tis the Season to Save

During the 2022 holiday season, The White Dove Thrift Shoppes ran a sale giving shoppers 25% off their total purchase at any store location. The White Dove website (whitedovethrift.org) featured a digital version of the coupon that could be downloaded for one-time use. To promote their holiday sale, the White Dove sought a partner who could run an engaging marketing campaign to entice new shoppers to their stores. Prisma’s team was equipped to meet the challenge and helped launch a successful direct mail campaign using our DM360 marketing solution.

Using Data to Target Shoppers

The White Dove needed an effective way to reach a direct mail audience that would be likely to shop at one of its thrift stores. We determined that a highly targeted approach would help Hospice receive a higher return on their campaign. Prisma identified residents who lived within a one-mile radius of each store. A short travel time in a familiar area would attract these local residents to the White Dove stores. We targeted their audience further by selecting individuals who met specific demographic criteria, including age, gender, and household income. These criteria would allow White Dove to spread its message to recipients most likely to visit a thrift store and support charitable organizations.

Digital Technologies Boost Engagement

By deploying DM360, the White Dove direct mail campaign launched an omnichannel marketing approach. In addition to traditional mailers, White Dove ads were shown on Instagram, Facebook, the Google Display Network, and Informed Delivery emails, gaining multiple impressions per each direct mail recipient. With a total mailing list size of 4,487 records, the campaign concluded with 54,061 total impressions, averaging 12 impressions per mail recipient. The campaign finished with a 4.99% audience engagement rate, performing significantly higher than the target engagement rate of 1% for DM360 campaigns. The White Dove stores reported a return of 134 coupons across all stores, receiving 96 paper and 38 digital. Their Scottsdale location collected the most coupons, receiving 67 total coupons. “Overall, we are very pleased with the print/ digital DM360 campaign. This experience has given us great insight into which White Dove location are more apt to use coupons, as well as which product worked better – print or digital. The Prisma team was amazing, ensuring that we understood all the facets and utilized them to their full potential.”
